Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the answers to some of the questions you may ask:
Q: Are we covered whilst towing the craft?
A: Yes, inland transit cover is provided, however this policy will not cover the damage caused to
somebody's vehicle or property as this is covered by the motor insurers; ie. this policy does cover
the damage caused to your boat, trailer or engine, which the motor insurers would not cover.
Q: How far can I use the craft off shore?
A: The policy allows up to 20 miles off shore as standard. If a further distance is required, we may be
able to arrange this for you when required.
Q: What happens if I collide with a diver or a swimmer in the water?
A: This is an important part of the policy. Up to 3 million pounds cover is provided if you were to injure
the swimmer or diver. Although we find that most standard marine policies exclude cover if you were to
strike one of your own crew members, ie. divers, we do provide this cover with our policy
(legal negligence must be proven on each occasion).
Q. Can we use the craft for water skiing?
A. Yes, if the additional cover is selected, the policy will provide up to 1 million pounds cover
(however, legal negligence must be proven on each occasion).
Q. Is the engine covered if I hit an underwater object?
A. Yes, if the additional cover is selected.
